Role Summary

Director, Real-World Evidence and Epidemiology, Bacterial and Vector Borne Disease Vaccines team. Lead global epidemiology and real-world evidence initiatives focusing on pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs), driving study design, execution, and dissemination to inform vaccine recommendations and next-generation vaccine development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct epidemiology studies, including field data collection and secondary analyses of real-world data.
  • Author and review study protocols, reports, presentations, and peer‚Äëreviewed manuscripts.
  • Provide input to study design for high-priority pneumococcal vaccine studies, including recommendations, schedules, and payer considerations.
  • Develop innovative approaches to global bacterial infectious disease and vaccine questions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external partners for high-priority global studies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external experts in statistics and data analysis to interpret data from burden of disease and vaccine studies.
  • Ensure collection of epidemiologic data essential for developing vaccine product labels.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PhD in Epidemiology or related field; MD with relevant experience; or MPH/ Master’s with relevant experience).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, academic, medical, or public health settings (for PhD); 4+ years for MD; 7+ years for MPH/master’s degree.
  • Subject matter expertise in vaccinology and infectious disease epidemiology.
  • Strong epidemiological and statistical methods for observational/non-interventional studies.
  • 5+ years in vaccine-related medical/scientific activities including research, clinical development, epidemiological studies, and infectious disease surveillance.
  • Experience conducting vaccine effectiveness and impact studies preferred.
  • Experience operating within large cross-functional matrices and collaborating with multiple partners.
  • Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience directing analyses of real-world data using large healthcare databases with ICD-10 or claims data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with lead authorship in at least 5 English peer-reviewed publications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to deliver high-quality results on time.
  • Ability to review, evaluate, interpret, and present complex data.
  • Significant cross-functional leadership experience and track record of managing projects to completion.
  • Ability to lead vaccine epidemiology projects end-to-end from conception to reporting and interpretation.
  • Demo of diverse leadership experiences, ability to influence, coach others, and create business impact.

Additional Requirements
