Director, R&D Scientific Engagement Strategy & Operations

Role: Lead the external scientific engagement strategy for Madrigal’s R&D, focusing on managing expert consultant relationships, advisory boards, and stakeholder interactions to support drug development programs. Responsibilities: oversee all external expert engagements from scope to execution, coordinate participation in scientific congresses, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards. Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Medical, Communications, and Commercial teams to align external activities with strategic goals. Manage budgets, documentation, and operational processes to optimize scientific outreach and data dissemination. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in science or related field; 12+ years in pharma/biotech operations, clinical development, or related areas; experience managing complex external collaborations and cross-functional initiatives. Preferred: experience with scientific meeting planning, clinical development processes, regulatory landscape, and advisory board management.
