Role: Lead GWE R&D Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) programs, focusing on industrial hygiene across global research operations. Responsibilities: serve as principal industrial-hygiene authority, lead hazard and exposure assessment programs, oversee containment and engineering controls, and guide EH&S community practices; influence enterprise EH&S policies, establish performance metrics, support risk assessments, and lead incident investigations. Lead a community of EH&S experts, drive continuous improvement, and represent R&D in enterprise EH&S governance; explore AI opportunities for process optimization. Qualifications: Bachelorβs in industrial hygiene, environmental health, chemistry, or related field; 10+ years of progressive EH&S experience in pharma, biotech, or regulated life sciences environments; deep technical expertise in exposure assessment, hazard control, and laboratory safety; demonstrated senior leadership influence in matrixed organizations. Preferred: CIH certification, advanced degrees (MS/PhD/MPH), R&D lab IH experience with potent compounds or BSL-3, familiarity with EH&S management systems. High-Value: focus on pharmaceutical R&D, potent compounds, biologics, BSL-3, global scope, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement. Worksetup: hybrid with approximately 30% travel, primarily domestic and international, based on site needs in the U.S., preferably on the East Coast.
