Director R&D EHS Program Lead

Role: Lead GWE R&D Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Program, serving as the principal industrial hygiene expert supporting research operations. Responsibilities: oversee chemical, physical, and biological hazard assessment, develop exposure monitoring programs, lead hazard control strategies for potent compounds and biologics, and manage ventilation and containment verification. Drive EH&S standards, lead a global community of practice of 10–12 experts, shape enterprise EH&S policies, and report metrics to senior leadership. Advise on EH&S risks for R&D activities, support vendor programs and M&A due diligence, and explore AI solutions for EH&S processes. Requirements: Bachelor's in industrial hygiene, chemistry, engineering, or related field; 10+ years in industrial hygiene/EH&S within regulated life sciences environments; proven senior leadership in EH&S, with deep expertise in exposure assessment, hazard control, and laboratory safety in R&D settings. Preferred: CIH certification, advanced degrees, direct R&D laboratory experience with high-potency compounds or BSL-3 work, and familiarity with EH&S digital platforms. High-value: experience in pharma/biotech, laboratory and research site hazard management, global stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, biosafety). Work setup: hybrid, with domestic and international travel (~30%).
