Job Description:
Director, Project Management. Lead high-priority U.S. Commercial strategic initiatives and serve as a strategic advisor to leaders across Business Units and functions. Report to the Senior Director, Business Strategy & Operations. Based in Foster City, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead strategic initiatives aligned to U.S. Commercial goals and objectives.
- Partner with leadership to shape strategy, clarify choices, challenge thinking, and drive decisions on complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Develop new concepts, techniques, standards, and approaches.
- Lead complex planning, operations, and special projects with significant organizational impact and limited direct supervision.
- Create executive-level work products (strategic frameworks, governance models, recommendations, narratives, decision materials).
- Anticipate interdependencies, risks, and organizational implications; proactively mobilize stakeholders to resolve issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 12 years’ experience; OR
- Master’s degree and 10 years’ experience; OR
- PhD and 8 years’ experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years relevant experience; OR Master’s/MBA/PhD/MD with 10+ years relevant experience.
- 2+ years at a top-tier consulting firm preferred.
- Deep biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of the U.S. Commercial business, portfolio, and enterprise operating environment.

- Strategy development across commercial/functional/enterprise contexts.
- Solve unique, highly complex problems with ingenuity and business judgment.
- Influence senior leaders; build consensus across stakeholders.
- Synthesize complex situations; facilitate strategic discussions.
- Design and deploy processes, tools, templates, governance, and operating models at scale.
- High EQ and executive presence; provide dissenting views when appropriate.
- Familiarity with ADKAR change management.
- Highly proficient in PowerPoint; craft executive-ready stories.
- Proficiency: Smartsheet, Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint, MS Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot.
