Role Summary

Director, Product Strategy & Innovation. The Product Strategy & Innovation group within CP&I and part of GCO is a small, responsive unit to define and lead a program that re-defines how clinical research is operationalized at GSK. The role encompasses building, buying, or collaborating on novel solutions that can be scaled to deliver value, efficiency, and acceleration across the portfolio. The mission is to build capability and deliver data-driven decision-making approaches across the organization, applying novel analytical methods and digital operational enablers to design high-performing clinical trials and enable monitoring throughout execution and close activities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for innovation to drive acceleration of GCO activities through building or implementing software products and capabilities.
  • As the business product owner, lead cross-functional teams including tech, domain experts, SMEs, data engineers, and business SMEs to deliver innovation solutions aligned with the GCO vision of next-generation data acquisition and future-state clinical trials.
  • Lead discovery and brainstorming to simplify the GCO technology ecosystem, including reducing system count and defining new site and patient workflows and experiences.
  • Identify areas for optimization and efficiency based on product development experience and clinical trial delivery knowledge.
  • Continuously scan the external landscape for novel technologies or vendors to integrate into the GSK ecosystem.
  • Responsible for budget within the product development process and ensuring ROI commitments are met.
  • Accountable for adoption of new processes and products rolled out to the organization.
  • Identify and maximize opportunities being worked on and developed; work on one or two major products.
  • Hands-on rapid prototyping with teams to explore, test, iterate, and validate potential solutions for stakeholders and customers.

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage key stakeholders within cross-functional teams; maintain regular interactions with functional heads and department leads to deliver innovation and value through product development and implementation.
  • Ensure adoption of tooling by senior stakeholders and verify that tooling solves business problems.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelorβ€šΓ„Γ΄s degree in Technology, Life Science, or equivalent work experience.
    • 5 years of experience leveraging data analytics, business intelligence, or machine learning to improve enterprise planning, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.
    • Proven track record of launching successful products with measurable adoption and impact; experience delivering products to market and scaling deployments to thousands of users.
    • Experience in developing and deploying software products, predictive modeling, and applied ML/AI algorithms.
    • Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams to drive business transformation and foster innovation.
    • Expertise in two or more of: business process reengineering, transformation, optimization, product management, engineering, or product design.
    • Experience in prototyping using platforms like VS Code and Copilot, Lovable, or similar tools to accelerate development cycles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Systems thinking applied to optimizing interconnected processes across large-scale organizations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Broad knowledge of Pharma industry processes, especially in R&D, clinical development, or drug discovery, with understanding of regulatory and operational challenges.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex multi-phase projects from ideation to delivery.
  • Deep understanding of Product Management, Software Engineering, and the broader technology landscape.
  • Ability to build consensus and influence across matrixed organizations; translate complex problems into actionable solutions with measurable business value.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders to align priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills to align business needs and translate them into tangible outcomes.

Education

  • Not specified beyond basic qualifications; degree in Technology, Life Science, or equivalent experience.
