Position Summary
Director, Process Engineering within Global Capital Project Solutions (Capital Services & Solutions) provides subject matter expertise to support capital programs and network initiatives across Cell Therapy Manufacturing, Biologics Manufacturing, and Pharma Manufacturing. Ensures process solutions are defined, governed, and executed aligned with business needs, EHS requirements, health authority expectations, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process engineering solution definition for strategic/complex capital projects; deliver user requirements, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specs, and technology assessments.
- Author and maintain technical design standards supporting process engineering and facility design; coordinate best practices across sites.
- Partner with Global Capital Project Delivery and Manufacturing Science & Technology to ensure process designs/equipment specs meet requirements.
- Facilitate a community of practice for knowledge sharing.
- Support Global Quality programs (QMS, GROe, PEARL, health authority inspections).
- Interpret/apply EHS and health authority regulations for global manufacturing.
- Participate in GMP design reviews, PHAs, and PSM reviews.
- Use process simulation tools to optimize user requirements/design outcomes.
- Provide ad hoc process engineering technical support as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelorโs in chemical or mechanical engineering; Masterโs preferred.
- 15+ yearsโ experience supporting capital project design/delivery in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Experience with sterile/non-sterile drug product manufacturing and other modalities (e.g., ADCs).
- Strong facility design, equipment specification, contamination control, and Health Authorities GxP knowledge.
- Proven leadership and ability to influence with minimal oversight; manage multiple priorities; resolve complex issues.
- Process simulation tools experience preferred.
