Clinical Director (Principal Scientist) β Cardiovascular and Respiratory clinical research.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct clinical research activities for new or marketed medicines, potentially managing full clinical development cycle (design, initiation, execution, monitoring, analysis, regulatory reporting, publication).
- Plan clinical trials based on clinical development strategy.
- Provide medical oversight and overall conduct of ongoing or new clinical trials.
- Analyze and summarize clinical findings to support safety/efficacy decisions and new drug applications, clinical study reports, or publications.
- Participate in internal and joint internal/external research project teams for new compounds and marketed compounds.
- Support business development assessments of external opportunities.
- Engage with other functional areas; collaborate with commercialization, regulatory affairs, statistics, and manufacturing.
- Provide expert internal/external scientific input; keep stakeholders informed of study progress.
- Maintain scientific knowledge (monitor developments, identify investigators, engage with clinical investigators, attend scientific meetings).
- Author development documents/budgets/presentations/position papers; facilitate global collaborations; travel ~20% to manage projects.
Education:
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Industry or senior faculty (academia) experience.
- 3+ years clinical medicine; 1+ year industry drug development or biomedical research in academia.
- Record of scientific scholarship; strong clinical and research background.
- Interpersonal, team, and strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
Preferred:
- Board Certified/Eligible Pulmonology, Cardiology, or related; preference for pediatric and/or adult care.
- Prior clinical research experience and prior publication.
