Core Responsibilities:
- Drive data-driven portfolio decisions within/across Therapeutic Areas (TAs), including internal portfolio valuation, PTRS (probability of technical and regulatory success) assessments, cross-TA R&D prioritization, and benchmarking/analytic support for annual financial processes.
- Lead high-priority 2026 strategic initiatives, including: enhancing Quarterly Portfolio Prioritization (QPP); modernizing valuation methodologies (including AI/ML-driven PTRS); and advancing the βR&D Pulseβ R&D productivity/peer benchmarking.
- Perform cross-functional, ad-hoc analyses, scenario planning, and strategic projects.
- Develop executive narratives and recommendations on project value, trade-offs, and scenarios for the Portfolio Review Forum, R&D Plan, and Financial Long Range Planning (LRP).
- Lead change management and capability building for more data-driven decision-making.
- Build value metrics (e.g., raNPV, Productivity Index) and scenario analyses; pressure-test assumptions from functional stakeholders.
- Support dashboard/data enablement to interrogate the R&D portfolio and enable new use cases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in scientific or business field required; advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA) highly preferred.
- Strongly preferred: management consulting experience with R&D strategy/portfolio prioritization.
- 8+ years (BS) / 6+ (MS) / 4+ (Doctorate).
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; deep pharma R&D process, stage-gating, commercial forecasting knowledge.
- Proven leadership in ambiguous environments without direct authority; strong executive presence.
- Excellent written/oral communication; strong organizational/project management.
