Role Summary
Director, PMO will lead a cross-functional portfolio of MedTech Procurement projects, aligning Global MedTech Procurement, Supply Chain, and other Global Functions to deliver a $5B spend portfolio. The role sets the strategic vision for the organization and ensures operational and strategic procurement execution, leading BU-related initiatives that shape MedTech's future-state strategy and value delivery. The role reports to the MedTech Supply Chain VP and collaborates with Sector, BU, Category, Value Hub, Digital, and Process Decomposition teams. Location: Raritan, New Jersey, United States.
Responsibilities
MedTech Supply Chain Procurement Business Planning & Procurement Portfolio Management
- Lead the SC Procurement Business Planning and Category Project Portfolio process in close collaboration with the BU Leaders, Category teams and MedTech Supply Chain
- Enhance the SC Procurement Business Planning and Project Portfolio Process
- Ensure that Strategic and Priority Programs are consistently and effectively managed and prioritized within the scope of well-structured portfolios targeting delivery against BP and Functional commitments
- Partner with Digital and Process Decomposition team to support technology design, transition, change management, and adoption for next gen SC PPM platform
- Develop a quarterly review & reporting cadence. Ensure alignment with SC and Procurement PMO team, driving strong oversight and results monitoring.
Functional Procurement/Supply Chain Procurement Program Management
- Shape and deploy the Functional / Supply Chain Procurement roadmap together with the BU Leaders, Value Hub and Digital & Capabilities Team
- Develop and lead strategic, sector projects and drive alignment, planning and tracking across all stakeholders involved
- Engage actively in the Global Procurement planning and leadership forums
Chief of Staff
- Plan and drive engagement forums with BU Procurement and Other Leaders in MedTech Procurement Leadership Team
- Manage annual budget development & compliance in close partnership with Finance
- Manage relevant organizational communications in collaboration with Communications and Change Leads
- Implement, lead and continuously enhance the MedTech SC Procurement Performance Management Process & Governance within the SC Procurement organization
- Collaborate within the Strategy & PMO Council as well as with Finance and Business Engagement
- Lead on embedding the Performance Management framework, Dashboards and Balanced Scorecard within the operational cycles of both the Business and Procurement function
- Initiate and lead Sector/Function/Regional KPI Improvement programs and drive alignment, planning and tracking across all stakeholders involved
Leadership Responsibilities
- Active member of the MedTech SC Procurement Leadership team
- Facilitate the SC Procurement leadership team meeting in close collaboration with the MedTech Supply Chain Procurement LT and in close alignment with the Sector/Category/D&C leadership and PMOs
- Lead, coach, and develop the SC Procurement PMO council to broaden the teams impact across SC and the Procurement function
- Active member of Procurement Strategy & PMO (SPMO) Council
- Lead, shape, and/or support SPMO enterprise priority workstream(s) to drive process improvements, standardization, and best practices across the Procurement function
- Ad hoc assignments as determined by corporate priorities & the SC VP.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent University degree required; focused degree in Business, Engineering, Science or related field preferred. Advanced degree preferred.
- Required: Minimum ten (10) years of relevant professional work experience
- Required: Experience inside and outside Procurement
- Required: A strong track record of program/project management and experience in standards and best practices design
- Required: A demonstrated track record of success in Business Planning and Execution - preferably within Procurement/Supply Chain
- Required: Prior success in the implementation of Capability Framework/Strategies
- Required: Must have track record of effectively leading and influencing within a global matrix environment across multiple businesses and initiatives.
- Required: Strong business and finance acumen, deep understanding of managing for impact in a highly complex multi-application, multi-function environment
- Required: Must be able to partner effectively and influence at all levels including senior leadership outside the function and outside J&J; demonstrated engagement and facilitation skills at most senior level (VP and above)
- Preferred: PMP Certification or Process Excellence/Six Sigma Certification
- Preferred: Experience working in a PMO and/or Supply Chain Procurement context
- Preferred: Advanced Desktop software (e.g MS Project), Finance and ERP/equivalent and CRM Platforms experience

Additional Requirements
- May require up to 20% domestic and/or international travel to other sites and locations
