Director, Platform Infrastructure

Role: Lead Alnylam’s enterprise platform infrastructure strategy, focusing on building secure, resilient, and scalable hybrid cloud and on-premises systems supporting enterprise applications, data, AI, laboratories, manufacturing, and facilities. Responsibilities: define and execute multi-year roadmaps for cloud services, storage, data protection, observability, automation, lifecycle management, and FinOps; develop platform engineering models with Infrastructure as Code, policy-as-code, and guardrails; oversee architecture, engineering, and lifecycle of infrastructure supporting regulated biotech operations; partner with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, security, and business continuity; set standards for availability, recoverability, and operational health; lead cloud financial management and vendor governance; manage a high-performing infrastructure team and strategic partners; oversee budgets, modernization, capacity, and vendor strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, or related; 12+ years in enterprise infrastructure, including 5+ leading teams; proven experience in cloud and platform transformation within complex global environments; strong expertise in public/hybrid cloud, automation, security, and regulated biotech environments; experience with cloud financial management and vendor oversight; exceptional stakeholder communication skills.
