Role Summary

Director, Plasma Derived Therapies (PDT) Patient Access Operations based in Lexington, MA. Responsible for managing the execution and optimization of patient support programmes across PDT, including oversight of internal initiatives and external partnerships to ensure efficient service delivery and operational performance to improve patient access and experience. Supports planning and decision-making activities contributing to programme success.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the implementation and management of end-to-end partner relationship processes to maximize business partner performance and provide great service to patients, including Patient Services and other internal stakeholders.
  • Manage HUB partners that support the PDT business, Patient Services Programs, contracted services from Specialty Pharmacies, Co-Pay management, and Customer Services.
  • Serve as Takeda operations Subject Matter Expert (SME), working cross-functionally with internal teams and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in strategic decision-making with cross-functional business leads to ensure alignment of priorities.
  • Lead and manage a group of vendors providing services to U.S. Patient Services in support of PDT patients, including program operations, budget management, projects, relationships, contracting, and invoicing.
  • Create and oversee patient service operations including staffing, rules of engagement, SOWs, SOPs, and business rules.
  • Develop and maintain understanding of patient services areas including HIPAA compliance, patient privacy/permission, and establish as Takeda’s SME for patient services.
  • Serve as primary contact for PDT service providers to ensure strong relationships and vendor operations aligned with Takeda’s values.
  • Coordinate with Data Aggregator partners, IT, Market Access, and Commercial Operations to negotiate and implement data feeds; liaise with project leaders to maintain and improve data quality.
  • Work with cross-functional internal teams to facilitate and optimize patient access to therapy and customer service.
  • Hire and manage a strong team to deliver on goals established by the Department Head in a highly visible environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or a Business-related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or related field in the Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Extensive CRM and/or ERP experience with requirements for external data feeds/integration and reporting.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience developing statements of work and key performance indicators.
  • Flexible and adaptable in handling change and competing priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting in Excel.
  • Experience in Patient Services, Specialty Pharmacy operations, or Hub management is a plus; pharmaceutical reimbursement experience preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, plan, organize work streams, and problem solve in a team environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; able to execute changes and manage others.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information; manage time and priorities; proactive and team-oriented; able to present to groups.
