Director, Pharmaceutical Development

Role: Lead the radiochemistry team within AbbVie's Process Chemistry department, focusing on labeling experimental drug candidates from preclinical to clinical stages. Responsibilities: develop and execute radiolabeling strategies for new drug substances using tritium and 14C; oversee the design of synthetic methods; collaborate across disciplines including organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and drug metabolism; author regulatory documents; mentor staff; ensure GxP and radiosafety compliance; and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements: BS (20+ years), MS (18+ years), or PhD (12+ years) in Chemistry or related field, with 8+ years of pharmaceutical laboratory experience; expertise in radiolabeling, synthetic organic chemistry, process development, and regulatory GxP standards; proven leadership in managing scientific teams.
