Role Summary

The Director, Patient & Provider Marketing โ€“ Dermatology leads the strategic direction, development, and execution of marketing initiatives for both patients and healthcare providers within AbbVieโ€™s Dermatology franchise for AbbVie Patient Services. This role leads a team to develop compelling value propositions, brand positioning, and go-to-market strategies that enhance the patient and provider experience, drive access and adherence, and align to business objectives across the Immunology-Dermatology franchise. The Director collaborates with cross-functional teams and external agencies to implement marketing strategies, and must operate in a fast-paced environment with a strong commitment to high-quality deliverables and patient impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the overarching vision, strategy, and annual marketing plans for patient and provider initiatives in the Dermatology franchise.
  • Lead creation of integrated marketing campaigns, programs, and education for both patient and provider/HCP audiences, ensuring alignment with brand imperatives and patient service experience objectives.
  • Oversee the design of end-to-end patient journeys and related Patient Services programs to support treatment adherence and improved patient outcomes in Dermatology.
  • Drive collaboration with Access & Reimbursement teams, Digital Lab, Co-pay Center of Excellence, Patient Engagement, finance, medical and regulatory review, training and Analytics functions to ensure effective, compliant, and innovative campaigns.
  • Lead external relationships with agency and consultant partners to deliver high-quality creative assets and marketing deliverables.
  • Partner with Marketing Business Insights & Analytics (APEX) to establish KPIs, track and report campaign effectiveness, and drive continuous optimization.
  • Effectively lead financial management of marketing budgets and resource allocation to continuously demonstrate fiscal responsibility.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and development to direct reports, fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and accountability.
  • Engage stakeholders across internal and external partners to ensure broad support and flawless execution of marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • 12+ years of progressive marketing experience, including strategic leadership roles in pharmaceutical or healthcare settings; previous experience in Dermatology, Immunology, or Specialty Pharma is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in both patient and HCP marketing, including omnichannel campaign development, brand positioning, and access-focused education initiatives.
  • Excellent people management skills and strong ability to lead with or without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with a robust track record in campaign measurement and optimization.
  • Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams and managing agency/vendor relationships.
  • Proven ability to balance creative vision with data-informed insights and financial stewardship.
  • Proficiency working in a matrixed environment and experience with digital marketing platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Adobe Experience Manager is a plus.
