As a Director, Patent Attorney, you will work with R&D teams to develop, protect, and manage intellectual property for therapeutic molecules in Immunology & Inflammation (I&I).

Typical day responsibilities:
- Identify and capture new inventions related to therapeutic antibodies, formulations, and methods of treatment based on preclinical/clinical research
- Work with outside counsel to prepare and prosecute US and international patent applications
- Manage coordinated global patent strategy implementation
- Assist with US/foreign patent administrative actions (e.g., post-grant oppositions, post-grant reviews)
- Monitor clinical programs and ongoing R&D, including review of planned publications/disclosures
- Conduct/assist with patent landscape, freedom-to-operate, and competitive intelligence assessments
- Assist in litigation or transactional activities as needed

Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in the life sciences (e.g., molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, or related)
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice before the USPTO and licensed in at least one state (NY bar member or eligible for in-house NY licensure)
- 4–5+ years of experience in a law firm and/or corporate law department preparing and prosecuting life-sciences patent applications
- Experience with large molecule biologics, especially antibodies

Skills/fit:
- Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects/priorities
- Ability to work independently with a large, complex docket
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across organizational levels

Onsite requirement:
- 4 days onsite at headquarters in Tarrytown, NY; not open to fully remote work
