Director, Partnership Management

Purpose
- Drive successful delivery of a dynamic R&D portfolio by overseeing partnerships with Global Development’s external suppliers (clinical trial execution, lab services, home health, digital health, flexible staffing such as biometrics and trial management).
- Serve as a connector between internal stakeholders and external partners for one or more categories; champion partners and represent Johnson & Johnson.
- Set partnership management strategy, ensure regulatory/company standards, and provide governance and performance oversight.
- Optimize existing relationships and proactively develop new relationships to meet portfolio deliverables with GD functions, Finance, R&D Procurement, R&D Quality, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage and grow partnerships; manage budget/headcount; ensure governance and compliance; oversee execution and resolve issues so suppliers meet contractual obligations.
- Understand business partner needs; identify opportunities; develop supplier strategy in alignment with business needs.
- Support execution and anticipation of resource needs for capabilities across patterns/suppliers.
- Lead/participate in projects to implement/maintain/optimize the One Delivery Model.
- Support geographic optimization strategy.
- Assess/validate new partnerships; support implementation of new suppliers; drive continuous improvement and new ways of working.
- Develop/maintain partnership standards and playbooks; documentation, issue management, compliance.
- Lead a team of Partnership Management/Enablement professionals.
- Collaborate with an agile mindset; build strong internal/external relationships.
- Travel up to 10% domestic; potential international.

Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (business or scientific field preferred).
- 10+ years related industry experience.
- 3–5 years direct vendor/supplier management experience (preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership success.
- Experience managing external stakeholders/strategic partnerships or alliances.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and influence in a matrix organization.
- Supplier processes/contracting knowledge (preferred) in deliverables-based or functional-service models.
- Sound business and financial acumen (preferred).
- People leader experience (preferred).
