Director, Partnership Management (R&D Project Management). Primarily located in Titusville, NJ; Spring House, PA; Raritan, NJ (3 days on-site per J&J Flex policy).
Purpose
Oversee and manage partnerships with Global Developmentโs external suppliers to support R&D portfolio delivery (clinical trial execution, lab services, home health, digital health, flexible staffing such as biometrics/trial management). Serve as a key connector between internal stakeholders and external partners; report to the Senior Director, Partnership Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage and grow partnerships to deliver business objectives; ensure governance, quality, and compliance with health authority and legal regulations; oversee execution and supplier contractual obligations.
- Define partnership strategy and supplier strategy aligned to business needs; understand partner needs and identify opportunities.
- Support execution/anticipation of resource needs across capabilities and patterns/suppliers.
- Lead/participate in One Delivery Model implementation, maintenance, and optimization; support geographic optimization.
- Evaluate and validate new partnerships; support onboarding of new suppliers; drive continuous improvement.
- Develop/maintain partnership standards and playbooks; resolve issues.
- Lead and guide a team of Partnership Management/Enablement professionals.
- Collaborate in a lean/agile environment; travel up to 10% domestic and potential international.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelorโs degree (business or scientific preferred).
- 10+ years related industry experience.
- 3โ5+ years direct vendor/supplier management (preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership success.
- Required: external stakeholder/strategic partnership or alliance management experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; influence in a matrix organization.
- Preferred: knowledge of supplier processes/contracting (deliverables-based or functional-service provider).
- Preferred: sound business/financial acumen; people leader experience.
