Role Summary

Director, Outcomes Research. Role involves leading strategic outcomes research initiatives across Viatris products, integrating humanistic and economic endpoints into development plans, and communicating findings to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Evidence Generation
  • Integrated Evidence Generation Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive evidence generation plans to support health economic modeling and HTA submissions.
  • Observational Studies: Conduct retrospective and prospective observational studies to gather real-world evidence.
  • Database Analyses: Perform analyses on large healthcare databases to identify trends and outcomes.
  • Comparative Effectiveness Research and Indirect Treatment Comparisons: Design and execute studies to compare the effectiveness of different treatments, including indirect comparisons.
  • Time-and-Motion Studies: Lead studies to evaluate the efficiency and resource utilization of healthcare interventions.
  • Predictive Modeling: Work with cross functional teams to develop predictive models to forecast health outcomes and economic impacts.
  • Epidemiologic Studies: Conduct epidemiologic studies, including burden-of-illness assessments, natural history studies, and incidence/prevalence assessments.
  • External Control Arm (ECA) Studies: Design and implement ECA studies to provide comparative data for clinical trials.
  • Patient-Centered Outcomes Assessments for evaluating health outcomes that matter most to patients.
  • EBM Methodologies: Apply evidence-based medicine methodologies to ensure high-quality evidence for modeling, HTA submissions, and payer discussions.
  • Strategic Leadership in Outcomes Research & Key Stakeholder Management: Lead and develop outcomes research strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align with strategic goals; build relationships with stakeholders in academic, healthcare, and payer domains.
  • Advocacy & Engagement: Engage with industry associations, policymakers, and thought leaders to advocate for real-world evidence and outcomes research.
  • Leadership & Communication: Present complex findings to senior leadership and act as a spokesperson for outcomes research activities.
  • Operational Excellence & Team Management: Lead a team of RWE scientists, ensure regulatory and ethical adherence, manage budgets and resources.
  • Data Strategy & Methodology: Manage data sources, develop cutting-edge methodologies, ensure data quality and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MPH, or equivalent); Masterโ€šร„รดs Degree required.
  • Research Expertise: Extensive experience in observational, epidemiologic, and comparative effectiveness research.
  • Health Economics Knowledge: Deep understanding of health economic modeling and HTA submissions.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in evidence generation and outcomes research methodologies with a track record of project delivery.
  • Technical expertise in study protocol development, methods/algorithms, statistical analysis plans, and publications.
  • Strategic thinking to align outcomes research with market access, commercialization, and regulatory strategy.
  • Exceptional communication skills for diverse audiences, including executive leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Change management and adaptability to regulatory landscapes and market trends.
  • Global HTA experience across various markets.
  • Business acumen in aligning Outcomes Research with product commercialization.
  • Ability to manage large datasets and conduct complex analyses; strategic planning.
  • Proficiency in statistical software; experience with health economic modeling software.
  • Certifications in Healthcare Data Analytics/Management and Health Economics & Outcomes Research preferred.
  • Periodic travel; normal office environment; English proficiency.
