Role Summary
Director of Oncology Portfolio Strategy and Innovation. Lead strategic planning for key initiatives within Pfizer's oncology portfolio, driving development and implementation of innovative strategies to enhance market position and deliver value to patients. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and oncology leadership to shape, develop, and execute strategies that advance and grow the business and provide insights on market signals impacting performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive portfolio strategies that impact multiple brands within the oncology umbrella, driving strategic alignment and seamless execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, organized accounts teams, and data analytics, to ensure alignment and successful execution of portfolio strategies.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and present strategic plans, business cases, and performance reports to senior leadership.
- Partner with BU leaders to develop business strategies. Identify key strategic imperatives and capabilities required to achieve these imperatives.
- Contribute to the completion of a strategy action plan that manages the execution of the strategies.
- Lead a portfolio of projects that provide insight and direction for key strategic levers such as market development, customer needs assessment, competitive advantage, and market or product prioritization.
- Provide perspective on the potential impact of external market signals that could affect future business performance.
- Develop deep expertise in market dynamics to identify trends, assess opportunities, and guide strategic direction.
- Understand the priorities of the triads and/or corporate functional leads to represent business needs and the status of opportunity evaluations.
- Develop external relationships that provide perspective on the diverse ecosystem outside of Pfizer as it relates to the areas of the business you support.
Qualifications
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
- Bachelorโs degree required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant healthcare experience required, including experience working in or with commercial functions involving strategy development and/or strategic initiatives (e.g., marketing, commercial development, market access & pricing, etc.).
- Proven track record of strong performance, teamwork, creativity, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues from multiple functional areas.
- Strong execution and project management skills, with the ability to work proactively and under tight timelines.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading cross-functional workstreams with senior colleagues.
- Experience in the oncology marketplace.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and lead with indirect authority.
- Ability to work with complex information and distill it into a framework that facilitates decision-making.
Education
- Bachelorโs degree required; MBA preferred.
