Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a global team of US and Europe-based data scientists.
- Co-develop and execute a data science strategy for Low Molecular Weight (LMW) drug development.
- Align with Oncology Drug Development teams to embed LMW data science in drug development and set scientific direction.
- Interface with Oncology Disease Area leaders to align priorities and deploy resources.
- Collaborate with Oncology Data Science AI and generative chemistry teams to develop ML/AI algorithms, models, and platforms for predictive and prescriptive insights.
- Partner with IT, Chemistry, and Technology stakeholders on shared projects.
- Contribute to Oncology Data Science leadership direction and management; represent the LMW portfolio.
- Collaborate with data engineering to ensure data standards, governance, strategy, analytics best practices, and reproducible research.
- Lead matrix efforts (e.g., Translational Data Science Clusters; genomics/proteomics/spatial).
- Present work in conferences, abstracts, and scientific journals.
Essential Requirements:
- Ph.D. in data science, computational biology, or related fields; deep understanding of biology, oncology, and LMW drug development.
- 10+ years of data science experience in oncology drug development.
- 5+ years people management; strong leadership and management.
- QC and data analysis experience for bulk RNA-seq, scRNA-seq and/or chromatin-based assays (ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, Hi-C).
- Expertise in quantitative/computational biology, AI/ML, statistical modeling; track record delivering data-driven insights.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional stakeholders.
- Publications and/or conference presentations.
Preferred Requirements:
- LMW-specific AI/ML (including computational chemistry) and generative AI in chemistry.
- Experience with cell line profiling; shRNA/CRISPR perturbation screens; high-content imaging; proteomics; in vivo efficacy analysis.
Compensation & Benefits (explicitly stated):
- Salary range: $194,600β$361,400/year.
