Director - Oligonucleotide Chemistry

Role: Senior scientist leading oligonucleotide discovery research, with a focus on advancing RNA-based therapeutics in Lilly’s neuroscience, pain/neuro, diabetes, and immunology areas. Responsibilities: oversee design, screening, and SAR optimization of siRNA, ASOs, and conjugates; support integration of AI/ML in discovery efforts; lead a team of Ph.D.-level scientists; collaborate cross-functionally, including with legal for IP strategy; present findings and contribute to technical capability development. Requirements: Ph.D. in chemistry or related field with 7-10+ years in industry, proven experience in oligonucleotide development and delivering clinical candidates, especially with extra-hepatic delivery and conjugates; strong data-driven decision skills; leadership capabilities.
