Operations
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership for Lilly Genetic Medicine (LGM) analytical activities: analytical/biophysical characterization, downstream processing method development, open-access QC workflows, analytical IT, and analytical instrumentation readiness.
- Partner with Early Phase Development and drug discovery to define and deliver analytical data packages supporting molecules from discovery to development.
- Mentor and develop the scientific team; promote technical/professional growth and knowledge sharing.
- Plan and manage short- and long-term analytical investments; develop/review technical agendas and timelines; recommend resource allocation; communicate progress and propose changes.
- Demonstrate learning agility across multiple modalities, including oligonucleotides, antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates, and peptide-oligonucleotide conjugates.
- Manage collaborative partnerships with internal and external analytical vendors.

Basic Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, or related field; 7+ years biopharmaceutical experience after graduation.
- 2+ years experience in people management and analytical laboratory operations.

Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Expertise leading analytical efforts in pharmaceutical discovery and/or development; skills in developing and validating analytical methods.
- Experience with method technical transfer from discovery to development.
- Separation sciences for oligonucleotides (RP, HILIC, HIC, IEX, SEC, CE).
- Experience with scale-up sample prep and analytical characterization of oligonucleotides and conjugates (ADC and peptide-oligonucleotide).
- Solid understanding of chemical synthesis, purification, and formulation requirements.
- Proficiency in biophysical/analytical characterization (light scattering, chromatography, MS, backgrounded membrane imaging).
