Role Summary

Director of Business Development to join our West Coast team. Drive strategic partnerships, shape the territory’s business development strategy, and establish Evotec as the partner of choice. Reports to the VP Business Development responsible for the West Coast.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic partnerships in the West Coast region of the United States for Evotec.
  • Be a key part of driving the overall business development strategy within the territory in close partnership with the VP BD, therapeutic area and platform leadership teams.
  • Establish relationships with partners that accelerate research, development and commercialization of their innovative products leveraging Evotec’s platform, aiming to establish long-term relationships.
  • Sign multiple strategic deals annually focused on Evotec's multi-modality discovery partnerships through pre-clinical development candidates.
  • Further establish Evotec as the partner of choice within the territory.

Qualifications

  • Minimum BSc, MSc or PhD in Life Sciences or related advanced degree (MBA acceptable).
  • 7–10+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical/biotech and/or management consulting; 5–7 years proven business development with complex negotiations and collaborations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to drive creative solutions.
  • Analytical skills to read, analyze, and interpret data and produce supporting documents.
  • Strong network, particularly in the West Coast ecosystem across pharma and biotech.
  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker; able to work in a fast-paced, global, multi-national environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, listening skills, and ability to assess partner needs and craft recommendations.
  • Team player with ability to influence internally and with partners; curious problem-solver who challenges the status quo.
  • Ideal candidate resides in CA or WA.
