Director of AI Strategy, Architecture and Solutions

Role: Lead the enterprise AI strategy, architecture, and solution design at Illumina, focusing on translating business intent into scalable, secure AI solutions aligned with company priorities. Responsibilities: Own AI portfolio planning, demand shaping, value quantification, and architecture standards; oversee solution engineering, feasibility testing, and prototype development; lead UX/UI design for AI products; manage cross-functional teams spanning architecture, business partners, solution engineering, and user experience; and ensure adherence to governance, security, and responsible AI practices. Requirements: 12+ years in technology or digital transformation, with 5+ years leading teams; deep expertise in enterprise AI architecture, including cloud platforms (AWS, Bedrock, Snowflake), APIs, data integration, security, and observability; proven experience in solution design, prototyping, and value realization; strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills; bachelor’s in a tech discipline; experience with regulated industries like genomics or life sciences preferred.
