Role Summary
Director, Network & Monitoring on the Information Technology Team to develop and maintain high-level design plans for the organization’s network and monitoring architecture, provide technical leadership, and drive strategic plans and project initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure network and monitoring platforms meet existing and future requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain documentation, policies, procedures, and training plans for network and monitoring resources.
- Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing performance statistics and reports.
- Provide architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to Network and Monitoring Engineers.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend cost-effective, flexible solutions.
- Develop and communicate plans for investing in network/monitoring technologies, including cost-reduction analysis.
- Research and evaluate products, services, protocols, and standards for procurement and development.
- Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of network devices and appliances across the global footprint.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure to design LANs, WANs, VMs, virtual networks, and wireless networks and manage related devices.
- Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
- Maintain regular communications with executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding network and monitoring activities.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 10 years of experience, or 12+ years equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years’ experience managing, developing, and delivering strategic hybrid network architecture and operational excellence in a global organization.
- 10+ years’ experience designing enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, VMs, and hybrid networks.
- 2+ years’ experience with monitoring technologies and platforms.
- 3+ years’ experience leading teams.
- Extensive knowledge of resilient IT networks and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
- Knowledge of AWS, GCP, Cisco Networking, and Generative AI.
- Experience with Python and Bash for automation.
