External innovation activities include scientific due diligence, building relationships with nephrology experts, and representing the company at scientific forums. Qualifications require a PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent with 10+ years industry experience (or 6+ with advanced degree), deep expertise in renal biology, drug discovery, and translational research, as well as experience leading preclinical programs and external collaborations. High-value specifics include a focus on rare kidney diseases, involvement in target validation, biomarker development, and early development planning, with familiarity across modalities and advanced model systems.
