Director, Molecular Pharmacology

Role: Senior scientist in molecular pharmacology within Lilly's Small Molecule Design group, focused on optimizing lead compounds for therapeutic areas including oncology, immunology, and metabolic diseases. Responsibilities: design and execute assays such as radioligand binding, receptor trafficking, and imaging-based assays; develop novel assay platforms; characterize compound pharmacology and mechanisms of action; provide scientific leadership, influence program strategy, mentor talent, and foster innovation by integrating new technologies and AI/ML. Requirements: PhD in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or related field with 5+ years industry experience or BS/MS with 10+ years; expertise in GPCR pharmacology, radioligand binding, receptor trafficking, confocal microscopy, and high content screening; proven record of scientific productivity and program leadership. Preferred: experience in CNS or metabolic target biology, assay development, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. High-Value: focus on drug discovery for complex diseases, on-site role with up to 2 days lab work, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver drug candidates to IND stage.
