Role: The Director, Molecular Genetics is the Technical Director overseeing the Liquid Profiling Laboratory at Caris Life Sciences, focusing on advanced molecular and genomic assay development, validation, and interpretation for oncology specimens, including ctDNA and inherited variants. Responsibilities: ensure high-quality, compliant molecular testing aligned with CAP, CLIA, NYS DOH, ISO standards; support assay development across technologies like NGS, PCR, and fragment analysis; interpret complex genomic data; maintain quality systems; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize workflows; mentor laboratory staff; contribute to assay validation, regulatory compliance, and R&D initiatives. Requirements: PhD in Genetics, Molecular Biology, or Genomics; ABMGG certification; 3+ years post-fellowship experience in clinical genomics, preferably in oncology; expertise in molecular diagnostic technologies, data interpretation, and lab regulations; strong communication and organizational skills; residency or willingness to relocate to Phoenix, AZ. Preferred: NYS Certification in molecular oncology; experience with liquid biopsy technologies, bioinformatics, and clinical variant interpretation; prior supervisory experience. High-Value: leadership in a high-complexity, CAP/CLIA-certified oncology molecular diagnostics lab, specializing in liquid biopsy and genomics, supporting clinical reporting and assay validation in a fast-paced environment.
