Role Summary

Director, Medical Communications & Scientific Exchange (MCSE) role providing strategic leadership, direction and oversight for neuroscience MSL communications, medical communications, and Scientific/Congress communications strategies across the ITCI portfolio. Responsible for developing and executing strategies for quality and compliant data dissemination, medical information services, medical education and medical review of externally facing resources. Includes recruiting, hiring, training and providing growth opportunities; fosters a learning, open-exchange team environment. This is a home office (Titusville, NJ) based position with up to 20% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of high-quality medical content to ensure clear, scientific communication of TA approved medicines, pipeline products and technologies.
  • Drive the medical communications, publication and Med Info activities across the TA portfolio.
  • Lead the medical communications team and contribute to strategy development, planning, and execution of scientific publications.
  • Develop quality content for MSL use in the field in partnership with MSL leadership.
  • Guide the development and review of externally facing customer materials, promotional and medical content, and sales training materials.
  • Oversee Conference planning and execution.
  • Oversee medical information delivery to health care providers and consumers, ensuring quality, fair balance, and compliance with regulatory guidelines; collaborate with colleagues to disseminate evidence appropriately.
  • Identify opportunities or issues by integrating science, industry knowledge, and regulations.
  • Evaluate and adopt cutting-edge information technology to improve MCSE efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain relationships with internal partners/authors and external key opinion leaders/principal investigators.
  • Drive strategic medical education plans and collaborate with internal partners.
  • Ensure compliance with internal SOPs and regulatory guidelines in medical information delivery, publication, promotion and medical education.
  • Foster a team environment focused on continuous learning and open exchange.
  • Manage recruitment, training, development of staff, and budget oversight.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a MD/DO/PhD/PharmD or masterβ€šΓ„Γ΄s degree with relevant experience.
  • 7-10 years of healthcare industry experience in pharmaceutical scientific communications or equivalent agency leadership.
  • 3-5 years of experience in people and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of the Neuroscience therapeutic area highly preferred.
  • Expertise in medical communications, writing, scientific research, and digital technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of Integrated Scientific Communications Strategy, ISMPP, and ACCME guidelines.
  • Proven presentation skills, business insight, critical thinking, and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Highly motivated, organized, self-starter with a track record of achievements.
  • Knowledge of US and global healthcare systems, pharmaceutical regulations, and medical information processes and technologies.
  • Proven resource and budget management skills and excellence in external professional relationships.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (Titusville, NJ).
