Responsibilities:
- Provide field coaching, mentorship, and management for field-based Medical Liaisons.
- Develop and implement strategies to manage key opinion leaders, organized providers, academic institutions, integrated delivery networks, and other healthcare provider/organization relationships.
- Ensure timely, up-to-date scientific information is provided to Medical Liaisons and support personal/team development.
- Own organized provider accounts and provide project/team leading responsibilities for the FMA program; represent FMA throughout the US affiliate and globally as needed.
- Provide administrative and management support for the field-based FMA program at Novo Nordisk Inc (NNI).
- Establish operating policies/procedures affecting the work unit; develop budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
- Monitor customer needs/analytics to support region/territory prioritization changes.
- Work with regional/MM/RMS teams to build and maintain thought-leader relationships; define mutual areas of interest/collaboration.
- Audit and review expense reports; manage and review time/activities (VEEVA).
- Review/evaluate/channel information to appropriate NNI personnel; provide timely responses to Medical Liaison requests.
- Act in complete compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
- Actively manage team resourcing (right people on right projects) and support pre-call planning for customer visits.
- Communicate NNI policies/procedures, annual goals (3P), and organizational changes; answer team questions.
- Coordinate training/development approaches with other Field Directors while customizing for individual needs.
- Provide onboarding/training and mentor talent development (technical/scientific knowledge, business practices, communication, motivational skills, and legal overview).
- Coach direct reports to meet unit objectives; provide constructive feedback (iCoach).
- Facilitate feedback to support Medical/Marketing/Sales strategies to improve strategic planning, clinical research quality, assessment accuracy, and competitive positioning.
- Coordinate/attend medical/scientific meetings and symposia; maintain awareness of trends/data and support provider relationships and physician Q&A.
- Collaborate with Executive Director to define therapeutic area disease/treatment concepts and implement tactics for adoption.
- Identify pursue new ideas/solutions and foster innovation; update the FMA team as needed.
- Collaborate with Marketing, market shaping, Commercial Effectiveness, and Sales management to develop scientific strategies; attend meetings and conference calls.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years management experience and 3 years pharmaceutical experience, OR 6 years progressive pharmaceutical industry experience (with at least 3 years in a healthcare system preferred).
- Advanced healthcare or science degree (e.g., DO, MD, PharmD, PhD, DNP) required.
- 1–2 years ML experience (or equivalent) required.
- Direct experience in a therapeutic area (e.g., hematology, diabetes, endocrinology) preferred.
- Proven success establishing relationships with opinion leaders/organized providers and managing teams.
- Self-development mindset: leadership/personal development, reading latest scientific literature, and keeping up with competitors.
