Role Summary
The Director, Urology is responsible for promotional and business strategies for the Urology franchise, which includes professional campaign development, lifecycle strategy, and competitive planning. This position works in close collaboration with cross-functional groups to impact product performance; in particular: sales, managed markets, medical affairs, finance, and commercial operations.
Responsibilities
- Directs team in the development of business strategy and associated plan, product budgets, sales forecasts and production forecasts to achieve sales and profit objectives.
- Co-leads the Urology integrated brand team (IBT) with their medical counterpart
- Proactively reviews and responds to changing market conditions to achieve financial objectives.
- Reviews and ensures accuracy of all sales and expense budgets and forecasts. Allocates appropriate resources to achieve goals and monitors expenses to ensure profit targets are achieved.
- Leads business strategies and corresponding product life cycle plans – lifecycle management, competitive threats and other product introduction opportunities.
- Ensures development of marketing and management skills of direct reports. Specific skill development includes market and financial, sales and expense budget/forecast development and monitoring analysis, strategy development and effectiveness and efficiency in development/implementation of promotional mix. Provides professional development, coaching and performance management of the team. Hires and develops a high functioning and effective team.
- Develops and maintains a customer focus that includes effective working relationships with key KOL customers, sales leadership, and cross functional stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in a technical discipline field required; MBA or other advance degree in social science, life sciences, or quantitative analysis or related area is desired.
- Minimum 8+ years of professional industry experience; 5+ years of HCP marketing experience
- In-depth knowledge of pharma industry marketing, sales and business development with established track record in managing industry-based marketing functions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and manage budgets.
- Highly desired: Buy & Bill Experience; Leadership Experience
- Ability to travel 30-40%
Education
