Role Summary
Director, Marketing Operations – MLR/PRC leads Biogen’s Promotional Review Committees (PRCs) and oversees content approval processes. Manages a team of Strategy & Execution Leads overseeing therapeutic area PRCs, collaborating with Marketing, Regulatory, Legal, and Medical teams. Chairs the Executive Review Committee to drive alignment, leads annual planning, content development, and final approvals, and uses data insights to monitor KPIs and continuously improve PRC effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Chair the Executive Review Committee to drive alignment on promotional review processes and compliance.
- Capture, analyze, and report on business metrics to identify and implement process improvements.
- Manage ongoing performance for direct reports through coaching and feedback.
- Partner with business stakeholders to manage the annual plan and address resource needs proactively.
- Collaborate with Marketing Leadership to assess process effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Chair the annual Community of Practice event for PRC stakeholders for knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to marketing operations.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation for enhanced efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
- Required: Minimum of 10 years pharmaceutical experience with 6+ years in promotional material review, marketing, medical, legal, and/or regulatory experience.
- Required: Strong understanding of high-quality promotional pharmaceutical content.
- Required: Strategic understanding of market trends and content approval process evolution.
- Required: Strong interpersonal skills with conflict management and negotiation experience.
- Required: Ability to work with urgency and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Required: Prior team leadership and cross-functional team leadership experience.
- Required: Demonstrated experience in developing and reporting on business metrics and KPIs.
- Required: Experience with MLR technology system metrics and business reporting.
- Preferred: Launch experience.
- Preferred: Post-graduate degree relevant to the Biotech industry and/or Commercial/Marketing Operations.
