Role Summary

Director, Market Access Strategy and Value Communications. Lead strategic and tactical efforts to demonstrate value and facilitate adoption of the late-stage ATTR asset, serving as access launch lead for ATTR with secondary responsibilities for portfolio and pipeline support. Focus on successful product launch, market access, site readiness, and compelling narratives for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Access & Value Strategy Development: Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive market access & value strategies that clearly communicate the impact and benefits of Intelliaβ€šΓ„Γ΄s gene editing therapies in ATTR. Develop and refine strategies that align with our commercial goals and resonate in global markets. Support the development of the global commercialization plan, which includes assessing market access favorability across major markets.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Develop clear and persuasive communication plans that effectively convey the differentiated value proposition of our therapies. Partner with cross-functional teams to craft narratives addressing clinicians, payers, channel partners, and patient advocacy groups. Identify evidence enhancements & gaps to inform future research objectives to bolster the value proposition and support product positioning and aligned access goals.
  • Launch & Site Readiness: Develop and refine launch plans and lead execution of market access strategies, access marketing initiatives and corresponding materials to ensure launch readiness across all access channels to secure access for providers and patients.
  • Market development: Establish reimbursement pathways for first-in-class gene therapies across access stakeholders including payer pre-launch engagement plans and site readiness preparation, including supporting marketing programs and communication materials.
  • Market Insights & Competitive Intelligence: Leverage insights from the ATTR access & payer landscapes to inform value strategy, messaging, and positioning. Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and regulatory landscape to refine approach and enhance launch trajectory. Assess impact of key policies to the portfolio (e.g. IRA).
  • Pricing & Reimbursement Strategy: Shape pricing and reimbursement strategies, developing arguments, evidence frameworks and communication materials to support optimal coverage and reimbursement for novel therapies in rare disease.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional initiatives to ensure cohesive launch readiness. Act as primary contact for strategic communications related to product value, bridging scientific, commercial, and patient-oriented teams to create unified messages. Ensure alignment across Market Access, HEOR, Brand, Regulatory, and Medical in plans and forecasts.
  • Portfolio Support: Provide support for portfolio and pipeline Market Access activities including payer marketing workstreams, market insights and analytics, congress engagement.

Qualifications

  • Proven success in leading value strategy, market access, or strategic communications in a launch setting, delivering differentiated value narratives and customer-facing access marketing materials.
  • Track record of launching first-in-class products in the United States and globally, including pre-launch payer engagement and market development.
  • Experience developing provider site and channel access & reimbursement strategy in the US and implementing site readiness for product adoption and administration.
  • Experience in commercialization collaborations including co-promotion (desired).
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare payer systems, reimbursement models (including US buy-and-bill) and value frameworks, especially in rare disease and Medicare.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with ability to influence cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with a commitment to gene editing therapy challenges.
  • Results-driven self-starter with accountability and collaboration across teams.
  • Organized, flexible, and adaptable; comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, PhD, MD) or equivalent in business, life sciences, public health, or related field preferred.
  • 8+ years in biopharma, preferably gene therapy or gene editing, with 5+ years in market access; experience in rare disease and/or cardiovascular preferred.
