Director, Manufacturing Operations

Role: Director of Manufacturing Operations overseeing upstream and downstream biologics manufacturing processes at Bristol Myers Squibb, including commercial products like Orencia, Empliciti, and Opdualag, as well as clinical pipeline production. Responsibilities: lead all manufacturing activities, resource allocation, process optimization, and compliance with cGMP standards; drive safety, quality, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement; manage cross-functional collaborations with QA/QC, MS&T, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other teams; develop high-performing teams, foster safety culture, and ensure audit readiness. Requirements: B.S. or higher in science, engineering, biochemistry or related; extensive knowledge of biologics manufacturing, process development, and technology transfer; experience managing large teams (>30 people); strong leadership, change management, and communication skills; proven ability to operate within a regulatory environment and drive continuous operational excellence. Preferred: mastery of automation systems, experience with new product introductions, and cost reduction initiatives. High-value specifics: biologics (therapeutic proteins), cGMP, commercial and clinical manufacturing, biotech focus, regulatory compliance.
