Position Summary:
- Lead mRNA delivery efforts; oversee development of novel LNP (lipid nanoparticle) systems for extrahepatic delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee development of novel LNPs (lipid chemistry, composition, formulation process)
- Oversee cell-based assays and animal models for LNP testing
- Lead LNP delivery biology (protein design and bioconjugation) for LNP optimization
- Collaborate cross-functionally with pharmacology and programming teams to meet milestones
- Drive RNA extrahepatic delivery strategy with emphasis on IP and key deliverables
- Stay current on RNA delivery literature; prepare technical reports/white papers
- Prepare documents/manuscripts for IP filings and publications
- Present findings internally and externally at scientific conferences/events
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
- 10+ years of experience with lipid nanoparticles, siRNA, and protein design
- Experience translating animal models from mouse to non-human primate
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Innovation track record in LNP research (bioconjugation, protein/binder design)
- Strong record keeping (eLN)
- Proven team leadership
- Ability to synthesize inputs and recommend LNP research strategy
- Ability to operate in detail and high-level settings
- Strategic thinking, influence, proactive ownership mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Biotech industry experience
- Knowledge of the drug development process

Compensation (base pay range):
- $195,000 to $215,000+ bonus, equity and benefits
