The Director of IT Infrastructure is responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing operations of the companyโ€™s enterprise IT infrastructure across on-premises and public cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services). Lead a team of infrastructure staff to support business needs, drive modernization, and ensure reliability and scalability.

Responsibilities
- Define and execute a multi-year IT infrastructure roadmap aligned with corporate growth and digital transformation priorities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing infrastructure team across multiple sites.
- Partner with IS leadership and business stakeholders on infrastructure investments, priorities, and compliance requirements.
- Establish and manage infrastructure budgets, vendor contracts, and technology refresh cycles.
- Develop and communicate infrastructure KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics.
- Oversee virtualization infrastructure design, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Manage Microsoft Active Directory.
- Drive hybrid cloud strategy and operations across Azure and AWS (workload placement, cost, performance).
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Oversee network infrastructure (LAN/WAN and SD-WAN) across sites and cloud tenants.
- Oversee server patching and enterprise configuration management standards.
- Lead capacity planning and performance monitoring.
- Ensure infrastructure platforms/processes comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support internal/external audits with documentation and technical guidance.
- Maintain and test disaster recovery and incident response plans.
- Lead infrastructure projects (consolidations, cloud migrations, site expansions).
- Manage vendor/MSP relationships and service delivery accountability.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for efficiency and cost reduction.

Requirements
- Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field.
- 10+ years IT infrastructure experience; at least 4 years in senior leadership/director-level role.
- Hands-on virtualization expertise (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V).
- Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory.
- Strong working knowledge of AWS and Azure (architecture, operations, cost management, security).
- Experience in multi-site enterprise IT in a regulated industry.
- Track record building/leading/developing high-performing infrastructure teams.
- Strong network architecture/security knowledge and ITIL-based service management.
- Infrastructure compliance experience relevant to pharma/biotech (GxP, SOX, HIPAA).

Preferred
- Certifications: VMware VCP/VCAP, Azure Administrator/Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, ITIL v4.
- Infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Bicep).
- OT/IT convergence experience in lab/manufacturing (pharma/life sciences).
- Strategic thinking; translate business needs into scalable solutions.
- Clear communication to non-technical audiences.
- Organizational/prioritization skills in a fast-paced regulated environment.
- Collaborative, team-development leadership; cross-functional partnership.
- Data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Compensation (if applicable)
- Wisconsin pay range: $190,000โ€“$210,000 USD
- California pay range: $210,000โ€“$230,000 USD
