Director, IT Data & AI Product Owner – PDM & Tech Ops
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead product strategy and multi-year roadmap for AI-enabled Technical Development and Quality capabilities.
- Partner with senior PDM and Tech Ops leaders to identify AI opportunities, pain points, and advanced analytics opportunities; develop business cases.
- Lead and mentor AI Delivery Leads, Data Scientists, and Product Managers; prioritize the product backlog by business value, risk, feasibility, and alignment with enterprise data/AI strategy.
- Establish and scale a product operating model for consistent delivery.
- Translate business objectives into product requirements/backlog items, incorporating data architecture, platform constraints, and scalability.
- Own end-to-end portfolio vision/roadmap for Technical Development, PD, and Quality decision-support.
- Align solutions with data architecture and AI/ML capabilities; ensure adherence to GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, and regulated SDLC.
- Define/track success metrics (cost reduction, productivity, adoption, satisfaction) and drive continuous improvement.
- Drive change management and user adoption (UX, communications, training, feedback loops).
- Own vendor/partner strategy for product support (external capacity, AI/LLM capabilities) with IT/Procurement.
- Identify capability gaps and influence Databricks/AWS/data platform evolution.
- Ensure compliance with GxP, privacy, and data governance.
- Serve as trusted advisor to clinical development leadership; evaluate trade-offs and recommend data/AI solutions.
Key Skills & Experience / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s with 12+ years or Master’s/PhD with 10+ years in a relevant field.
- Strong understanding of clinical development (trial operations, data management).
- Experience leading AI/data product portfolios and teams.
- Executive stakeholder engagement/influence.
- Ability to translate complex business problems into scalable AI solutions.
- Knowledge of AI/data platforms (AWS, Databricks).
- Agile product delivery experience.
- Business acumen and prioritization.
Differentiators (preferred)
- Experience in PD, Quality systems, and CMC/manufacturing/supply chain analytics.
- Experience applying AI/ML in clinical trials/development; exposure to generative AI use cases.
- Experience in GxP-regulated environments.
Benefits/Compensation (as stated)
- Salary range: $226,185.00–$292,710.00; may be eligible for discretionary bonus, long-term incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
