Role Summary

Locations: Cambridge, US; Mainz, Germany. This full-time Director, Investor Relations role leads BioNTech's investor relations program, shaping and executing the company's communication strategy for the investment community. You will elevated investor engagement and support valuation by articulating BioNTech’s oncology-focused scientific narrative and long-term growth story, working with senior leaders to convey a credible equity narrative.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead strategic initiatives and projects to enhance communication and engagement with analysts and investors.
  • Shape and optimize BioNTech’s equity narrative to articulate the value of technology platforms, pipeline assets, clinical development strategy and long-term growth potential.
  • Interface directly with a broad range of investors and sell-side equity analysts to articulate the BioNTech narrative, fostering trust with the investment community.
  • Utilize insights from market activity, policy updates, financial trends, competitor landscape, and shareholder concerns to fine-tune investor engagement and communication.
  • Shape and oversee a high-impact IR event calendar, including roadshows, investor and medical conferences, IR company events such as R&D Days, and quarterly updates.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with leaders across all functions, including R&D, medical, finance, corporate communications, legal, policy and commercial to empower IR communications.
  • Interface directly with management board members and help to enhance IR’s internal strategic value through high-quality interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and industry standards in all communications and internal and external engagements.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree; with 8+ years of relevant professional experience; could include investor relations, corporate communications, corporate development, competitive intelligence, medical/R&D, equity research or similar roles within biopharmaceutical space.
  • Preferred: Scientific or medical background; ideally with oncology expertise and experience.
  • Required: Proven ability to lead, build relationships and influence across functions and levels of leadership.
  • Required: Strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced working environments with ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, with a dynamic approach to ensure delivery of high-quality outputs to deadlines.
  • Required: Understanding of financial reporting and valuation techniques used by investment professionals.
  • Required: Strong attention to detail, and ability to review and deliver high-quality, accurate content and documents directly to investors and executives.
  • Required: Exceptional written/verbal communication skills for presenting complex topics clearly and concisely in various settings.

Education

  • Advanced academic credentials (Ph.D., MBA or Master's Degree) preferred.
