Director, Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Strategy & Planning

Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Commercial Therapeutics, US Market Access, Global Commercial Development (GCD), Finance, Government Affairs, and Legal to assess IRA impacts on brands and pipeline assets.
- Serve as subject matter expert for therapeutic area leaders, Integrated Brand Teams (IBTs), and Asset Strategy Teams (ASTs) on IRA implications, timelines, and long-term impact.
- Develop and lead a structured framework to evaluate and risk-assess on-market and pipeline assets with IBTs and ASTs.
- Identify and prioritize IRA risks across the Long Range Plan (LRP) for each asset; lead cross-functional risk-navigating teams to drive mitigation strategies (life cycle management, negotiation alternatives, evidence generation).
- Support portfolio-wide risk stratification and segmentation to focus resources and innovation.
- Drive solutions that minimize IRA risk and maximize opportunities for patients and AbbVie.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline.
- Master’s degree highly desirable.
- 12+ years progressive experience in highly regulated commercial business (pharma/healthcare strongly preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in life sciences, business, public policy, or related field.
- Experience in portfolio risk management, market access, or strategic planning.
- Deep understanding of US healthcare policy and regulatory landscape; IRA knowledge highly valued.
- Strong leadership; proven ability to drive cross-functional teams and complex projects.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, interpersonal skills; analytical thinking and problem-solving.
