Role Summary

Director II, APEX Data Transformation — responsible for overseeing the development and execution of data strategies that inform business decisions and drive significant business value. Provide leadership to teams across US Commercial and AbbVie Patient Services data governance, data operations, data strategy, and business intelligence, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, usable data that fuels business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Data Center of Excellence that aligns with current and future business objectives and drives growth. This includes identifying data solutions that build competitive advantage.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a diverse team of data professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes growth, innovation, and learning.
  • Oversee US Commercial and AbbVie Patient Services data management program including data governance, syndicated data operations, promotional data operations, patient claims data operations, commercial MDM, and patient MDM.
  • Develop and lead the change management and implementation of data governance across US Commercial and Patient Services data assets – ensuring internal analytic consumers can access data assets easily, when needed and with confidence that data is accurate.
  • Develop and implement a cross-enterprise harmonized data strategy and business intelligence solutions that enable stakeholders to access and leverage data to make informed decisions and drive business outcomes.
  • Evaluate the current and future business needs for data solutions and develop the roadmap for converting data projects to products.
  • Develop and execute data acquisition and sourcing strategies, identifying and evaluating external data sources and partnerships to augment internal data assets.
  • Lead data change management efforts, ensuring successful adoption and integration of data products across the organization.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data, evaluating their potential impact on our organization and identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline such as economics, math, computer science, information technology, or related field
  • 10+ years of related professional experience
  • 8+ years of experience in data, with at least 5 years technical experience
  • Experience developing and presenting business cases in data to senior leaders
  • Ability to lead a large diverse team, delegating and orchestrating multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the Pharma industry is required
  • Strong understanding of data and analytics frameworks and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a dynamic environment and flex resources
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to data governance
