Role Summary
The Director, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) Strategy for Migraine leads the development and execution of projects for on-market and/or pipeline development assets. They serve as the brand/asset HEOR leader on cross-functional asset/brand teams and in pipeline commercialization teams. They are accountable for HEOR strategies and execution for at least one asset and/or at least one indication for US or international, and may have 1β2 full-time direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the design and conduct of projects and effectively communicates the findings and strategic impact of findings to internal and external audiences.
- Provides product leadership to HEOR strategic direction aligned with business goals established with cross-functional partners.
- Ensures project plans integrate with product strategic plans from matrix teams and commercial interests. Provides updates on execution of plans to product and functional management, owns and shares project execution decisions. Liaisons with other product team members to generate innovative ideas and create buy-in to strategies.
- Accountable for end-to-end delivery of HEOR book of work under their remit, from strategy development to content pull-through.
- Accountable for ensuring strong partnership with all relevant HEOR COE functions to represent a comprehensive HEOR voice in cross-functional meetings.
- Executes with executive presence and the ability to engage with senior leaders in a cross-functional setting.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in health economics or related discipline
- Minimum of seven years working experience with Masterβs; five years with PhD (fellowship experience acceptable). Professional training in a health field (MD, PharmD, etc.) is a plus
- Preferred: PhD in Economics, Econometrics, or pharmacoepidemiology or related field with 3 years of relevant experience. Clinical research experience strongly recommended; pharmaceutical industry experience preferred. Experience leading complex products and/or clinical development in support of pipeline development and on-market product
- Typically 3+ years of clinical development experience in the pharmaceutical industry, CRO, academia or other health-related consulting with expert knowledge in a relevant therapeutic specialty
- Proven leadership skills in a cross-functional global team environment. Ability to interact externally and internally to support global business strategy
- Ability to operate in uncharted territory with few established guidelines; adept at navigating complex governmental rules and regulations
- Ability to develop creative and effective solutions to priority conflicts, resource constraints, and other project or group goals across multiple programs
- High goal-orientation with the ability to see solutions over problems in the face of drug development and on-market product support
- Extensive knowledge of the global regulatory, HTA and PR&A landscape, and understanding of related development functions across all drug development phases
- Skills to lead a cross-functional team and manage scientific personnel in clinical research; capable of engaging Senior Management globally and acting as HEOR project/group champion and spokesperson; self-starter with strong desire to drive commercial success
