Responsibilities
- Lead a reliability, electrical, and mechanical engineering team for testing, characterization, sustaining, and robotic hardware design improvements.
- Define and execute a multi-year hardware reliability and continuous engineering strategy aligned to product roadmap, clinical requirements, and commercial goals.
- Build, lead, and develop reliability/test/failure-analysis/continuous engineering teams.
- Drive day-to-day execution of robotic hardware reliability and continuous engineering for the Ottava program (balance scope, schedule, budget).
- Set system-level reliability targets and verification/validation plans reflecting clinical usage/OR workflows.
- Ensure testing, sustaining, and design changes meet regulatory/quality requirements with compliant documentation.
- Define and execute product life cycle management (design refresh, configuration control, improvement roadmaps, end-of-life).
Qualifications (Required)
- Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering background.
- 10+ years R&D designing complex electro-mechanical hardware; 5+ years focused on hardware reliability and lifecycle management.
- Proven experience leading teams through concept, design, build, and verification.
- Knowledge of medical device regulations (e.g., IEC 60601, IEC 61010, 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485).
- Collaboration across software, systems, manufacturing, and quality.
- Strong coaching/leadership; experience integrating robotic hardware.
Benefits (stated)
- Base pay range: $189,000β$325,450. Time off: vacation up to 120h/year; sick up to 40h/year; holiday up to 13 days/year; work/personal/family up to 40h/year.
