Director, Growth Strategy and Operations

Role: Serve as a strategic operational partner supporting a Team Principal/Growth Partner within Flagship Pioneering's Growth Team, focusing on driving value creation across a portfolio of Life Sciences companies. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day execution, ensuring governance alignment, supporting strategic analyses, and facilitating cross-functional coordination among Flagship functions such as finance, business development, legal/IP, and more. The role involves embedding with GrowthCo leadership, translating high-level strategies into action plans, monitoring portfolio progress, and acting as a trusted advisor to identify risks and growth opportunities. It also entails contributing to portfolio-wide knowledge sharing, adopting enterprise AI tools, and supporting company-building activities at various development stages. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s in life sciences or related field; 5+ years of experience at the nexus of life sciences and business, with exposure to healthcare, finance, or strategy. Proven ability to interpret complex datasets, build strategic recommendations, and communicate effectively with senior leadership. The candidate should demonstrate high emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial mindset, and cross-disciplinary credibility. Preferred experience includes familiarity with biotech or pharma company operations, strategic planning, and portfolio management. Location: On-site in Cambridge, MA, with a fast-paced, high-impact environment aimed at emerging executives interested in company building at the intersection of science and business.
