Director, Global Trade and Operations Strategy

Role: Lead global trade compliance and strategy for Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, supporting its growth in biopharma, particularly in RNAi therapeutics. Responsibilities: design and evolve the global trade operating model, ensure compliance with international trade regulations (U.S. and ex-U.S.), lead strategic trade initiatives, manage risks, and oversee trade governance across R&D, manufacturing, and commercial functions. Partner with senior stakeholders to support market expansion, optimize tariffs, and drive continuous improvement through systems and process harmonization. Lead and develop a global trade team, and collaborate on technology enablement for scalable compliance operations. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in relevant fields; 10+ years in biotech/pharma, with at least 5 years in trade compliance, supply chain operations, or global operating model design. Demonstrated experience in import/export controls, customs, HTS classification, country-of-origin, sanctions compliance, GxP distribution, and pharma supply chain regulations. Proven ability to build and lead global teams, develop operational strategies, and support product launches, including rare disease and larger patient populations. Preferred: advanced degrees, experience in network strategy development, and a passion for science-driven innovation. Work setup: based in Pasadena, CA or Verona, WI, with in-office presence required; domestic/international travel as needed.
