Role Summary

The Director, Global Talent Development is responsible for advancing Elancoโ€™s People Strategy and Leader2030 initiatives through the design, development, and execution of enterprise-wide talent development solutions. This role translates strategic leadership and workforce priorities into scalable, high-impact programs that strengthen leadership capability, performance, and career growth across the global enterprise. The role leads a small team and leverages AI, systems, and technology to modernize learning resources, improve efficiency, and enable data-driven decision making. Location: Global Elanco Headquarters, Indianapolis, IN.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of global talent development solutions that directly enable Leader2030 and Elancoโ€™s People Strategy, including leadership pipeline programs, performance and development frameworks, career pathing, and organizational development solutions.
  • Translate enterprise people and leadership strategy into detailed solution design, ensuring alignment to business priorities, measurable outcomes, and scalable execution.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team, providing clear direction, coaching, continuous feedback, and strong performance management, while fostering career growth and capability development.
  • Act as a project and program leader, forming cross-functional work teams, managing timelines and dependencies, communicating progress, and presenting solutions to senior stakeholders to gain alignment and buy-in.
  • Design, pilot, and evolve development programs using data, feedback, and evaluation insights to continuously improve impact and adoption.
  • Leverage AI, systems, and learning technologies to design tools, resources, and processes that increase efficiency, personalization, and accessibility of development solutions.
  • Tailor enterprise talent solutions to meet the needs of global business units, ensuring relevance across cultures, geographies, and leadership contexts.
  • Consult and collaborate across HR, including HR Business Partners, Communities of Expertise, and People Operations, to diagnose needs and co-create integrated solutions.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to inform program design, measure effectiveness, and support evidence-based talent decisions.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Required: 5+ years of experience designing and delivering Talent Management, Leadership Development, or Organizational Development solutions in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Required: Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams, including performance management, coaching, and talent development.
  • Required: Strong consulting, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills with both individual contributors and people leaders.
  • Required: Proven project and program management experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Preferred: Experience driving enterprise leadership or cultural transformation initiatives.
  • Preferred: Strong ability to build partnerships and influence across a matrixed organization.
  • Preferred: Experience applying AI, learning technologies, or digital platforms to scale and modernize development solutions.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated success supporting organizational change efforts in medium to large, global organizations.
  • Preferred: Experience in organizational design, capability frameworks, or performance management systems.
  • Preferred: Advanced ability to analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to inform talent strategy and solutions.
  • Preferred: Deep process consultation capability with a track record of partnering effectively with business leaders and HR partners.
