Director, Global Supply Operations- Apellis

Role: Director of Global Supply Operations leading supply chain management for Biogen's commercial products. Objectives include ensuring supply continuity, optimizing third-party packaging, labeling, and logistics, and maintaining high quality and compliance standards. Responsibilities encompass managing supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance; leading supply chain governance, KPIs, and business reviews; overseeing 3PL relationships for storage and distribution; maintaining inventory targets; and leading contract negotiations. The role involves collaborating with Trade & Distribution, Quality Assurance, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with DSCSA and serialization requirements, while proactively mitigating supply risks and driving continuous improvement. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related fields; 12+ years of experience in supply chain roles with at least 6 years in biotech/pharma; strong analytical, leadership, and negotiation skills; and experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree or supply chain certification, especially with serialization and GxP experience. The position is management-level, with occasional travel (~10%) to supplier sites. The role demands strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and expertise in cGMP supply chain operations within biotech or pharmaceutical environments, particularly for biologics or small molecules at the commercial stage.
