Role Summary

The Director, Global Pipeline Forecasting & Analytics leads forecasting and analytics for AbbVie’s Pipeline Commercialization & Strategy (PCS) across Neuroscience, Eyecare and Specialty. This role develops forecasts and analytical insights to support long-range planning, development milestones, and strategic clinical and commercial decisions, and manages the operational forecasting process and a team of forecasters.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a thought partner for senior pipeline commercial TA leadership by providing timely, data-driven insights and analysis to inform strategic decisions
  • Lead and coordinate forecasting and analytics support for commercial strategic initiatives in the relevant therapeutic area
  • Develop forecasting assessments to inform long-range planning and key development milestones
  • Seek and implement innovative forecasting approaches where appropriate
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Decision Sciences, HEOR, Global Epidemiology, Market Access & Pricing, PCS Finance, on-market Commercial Forecasting and Finance, Marketing Analytics and Business Intelligence, and on-market commercial teams to align key assumptions and deliverables
  • Champion the PCS Mission and AbbVie Leadership Attributes
  • Manage and supervise 3 direct reports who provide forecasting and analytics support for pipeline programs

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision making in cross-functional and cross-cultural environments
  • Strong communication skills, including development and presentation of forecasting and analytical insights
  • Experience building and updating forecasting or related analytical models across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Familiarity with common commercial analytics data sources and approaches, and incorporating these data into forecast models
  • Experience managing multiple projects across stakeholder teams with high-quality, timely results
  • Strong process management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel expertise
  • Experience in relevant therapeutic areas preferred
  • MBA or advanced STEM degree preferred
