Role Summary
Director, Global Medical Affairs
Responsibilities
Support the acceleration of BioNTech's clinical trials.
Advance scientific knowledge
Communicate scientific data and educate healthcare professionals
Identify and bring awareness to impactful medical insights and strategic planning
Collaborate with stakeholders to transform cancer care to improve the lives of patients with cancer by driving innovation in the field of immuno-oncology.
Qualifications
Education
Advanced science degree: MD or PhD, with experience in oncology (required)
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, or equivalent academic experience with demonstration of successful results
Demonstrated understanding of drug development and experience with phase 1 to phase 3 trials
Strong global medical affairs experience, including medical affairs strategic planning and execution of tactical initiatives (minimum 3 years)
Knowledge and application of business planning & leadership principles, such as goal setting, action plans, monitoring tools, directive, and supportive techniques to develop and implement action plans
Demonstrated ability to work with teams, manage a diverse work group, motivate them, and maximize productivity
Creation and oversight of cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams
Possess budget experience and knowledge
Experience in working in a team in a matrix structure in changing a competitive environment, changing product technology, and changing needs
Demonstrated orientation & credibility with internal and external customers
Creation of solid plans and reports for which performance and progress can be measured and evaluated
Additional Skills / Knowledge
English – excellent command of spoken and written English (German a plus)
High integrity and work ethics
Adaptability and ability to remain focused in the presence of shifting priorities and strategies in a timely response to the business climate
