Role Summary

Director, Global Medical Affairs

Responsibilities

  • Support the acceleration of BioNTech's clinical trials.
  • Advance scientific knowledge
  • Communicate scientific data and educate healthcare professionals
  • Identify and bring awareness to impactful medical insights and strategic planning
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to transform cancer care to improve the lives of patients with cancer by driving innovation in the field of immuno-oncology.

Qualifications

  • Education
    • Advanced science degree: MD or PhD, with experience in oncology (required)
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, or equivalent academic experience with demonstration of successful results
    • Demonstrated understanding of drug development and experience with phase 1 to phase 3 trials
    • Strong global medical affairs experience, including medical affairs strategic planning and execution of tactical initiatives (minimum 3 years)
    • Knowledge and application of business planning & leadership principles, such as goal setting, action plans, monitoring tools, directive, and supportive techniques to develop and implement action plans
    • Demonstrated ability to work with teams, manage a diverse work group, motivate them, and maximize productivity
    • Creation and oversight of cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams
    • Possess budget experience and knowledge
    • Experience in working in a team in a matrix structure in changing a competitive environment, changing product technology, and changing needs
    • Demonstrated orientation & credibility with internal and external customers
    • Creation of solid plans and reports for which performance and progress can be measured and evaluated
  • Additional Skills / Knowledge
    • English – excellent command of spoken and written English (German a plus)
    • High integrity and work ethics
    • Adaptability and ability to remain focused in the presence of shifting priorities and strategies in a timely response to the business climate
