Director of Supply Chain & Logistics — Responsibilities
- Lead Insmed’s global logistics operations supporting Commercial, Clinical, and R&D, including domestic/international transportation, import/export compliance, warehousing, and distribution across an outsourced manufacturing network.
- Serve as business owner for logistics and external logistics partners to ensure compliant, reliable, and cost-effective movement and storage.
- Manage logistics-related projects (new product launches, distribution model changes, external warehouse implementations, transportation network changes, CDMO onboarding, continuous improvement).
- Develop and execute global logistics strategy; assess geopolitical/trade/transport/regulatory risks and build mitigation plans.
- Standardize logistics processes and drive continuous improvement for service, compliance, and efficiency.
- Oversee transportation, warehousing, and distribution for commercial products, clinical materials, APIs, drug product, and development materials.
- Lead disruption management, business continuity planning, and logistics performance via KPIs (service, cost, transit time, customs clearance, cold chain).
- Own import/export, customs, and trade compliance aligned with regulations and Good Distribution Practices.
- Monitor and implement changes in trade regulations, tariffs, sanctions, and customs requirements.
- Partner with brokers, freight forwarders, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, and others; manage third-party logistics and logistics partner relationships via governance and metrics.
- Evaluate business cases and recommend logistics investments (operational performance, resilience, total landed cost).

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years in supply chain/logistics/operations in biotech/pharma/life sciences.
- Experience with commercial distribution; leadership managing high-performing teams.
- Deep knowledge of global transportation, warehousing, and import/export.
- Strong GDP knowledge; temperature-controlled/high-value pharmaceutical shipment experience.
- Vendor management; logistics across multiple regions/external manufacturing partners.
- Strong financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization).
- Negotiation/influencing; strong executive communication.

Preferred/Nice to Have
- MBA or Master’s; related degree.
- Clinical supply chain and/or R&D operations experience; virtual manufacturing/CDMO + 3PL experience.
- Rare disease/specialty product launch experience; cold chain; clinical trial logistics.
- Customs valuation/trade compliance; dangerous goods transportation.

Location/Travel
- Bridgewater, NJ office; in-person 2–3 days/week.
- Occasional travel (10–20%).
