Director, Global Forecasting COE Standards & Training

Core Job Responsibilities
Forecasting Standards & Best Practices
- Own the vision and direction for AbbVie Global Forecasting Standards across all business units globally.
- Lead ongoing development, documentation, and maintenance of forecasting standards.
- Monitor forecasting practices across US, International, and Allergan Aesthetics; identify opportunities to drive standardization.
- Maintain a network of internal/external resources to improve standards.
- Partner with functional forecasting leaders and Forecast Champions to ensure standards fit local environments.

Forecaster Training & Capability Development
- Set the strategic direction for the forecasting training curriculum (scope, sequencing, learning objectives).
- Design, develop, and deploy training content, including onboarding, methodology modules (trending, event modeling, patient flow, analog research), and data literacy curricula (IQVIA TRx/NBRx, 852/867, patient flow/new patient starts, epidemiology).
- Facilitate access to external training programs and industry resources.

Change Management & Forecaster Engagement
- Own COE forecaster engagement strategy.
- Lead change management/adoption for new standards, tools, and processes.
- Direct Forecaster Engagement Liaisons and manage Forecast Champions network.
- Establish forums/cadences to communicate standards updates and training opportunities.

Strategic Consultation & Forecasting Guidance
- Serve as subject matter authority on forecasting methodology; advise on novel/complex forecasting challenges.
- Provide guidance on analog research, event modeling, and scenario analysis.
- Support cross-functional initiatives where forecasting expertise is critical.

Team / People Leadership
- Lead delivery of training, standards documentation, engagement programs, and change initiatives.
- Own prioritization/work planning; coach and develop direct reports.

Reporting
- Reports to: Senior Director, Global Forecasting.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s in a quantitative field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years relevant pharma/biotech/life sciences experience in quantitative/analytical roles.
- 10+ years hands-on forecasting model development/maintenance.
- Proven influence without formal authority; strong executive communication.
- Deep familiarity with pharma data sources (IQVIA TRx/NBRx, 852/867, patient flow, epidemiology).
- Experience designing/leading corporate/commercial training programs.
- Strong stakeholder management.

Preferred
- Experience building/maintaining standards/governance frameworks (COE or similar).
- Forecasting tools expertise (e.g., Forecast Horizon, ForecastPro, FlexiCast).
- Data visualization/analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI, SQL, Tableau).
- International/multi-geography forecasting experience.
